The Department of Language and Linguistics invites submissions for the 2026 Pacific Linguistics Symposium to be held on the UPNG Waigani Campus. We welcome papers on Tok Pisin, Hiri Motu, PNG vernacular languages, and Pacific language documentation.
Abstract deadline: 15 July 2026 (500 words max). Email submissions to [email protected].
All SHSS students are reminded that Semester 1 final assignments are due no later than 6 June 2026. Submissions must be made through the student portal. Late submissions without an approved extension will attract a 5% per day penalty.
Students experiencing hardship should contact their lecturer or the School Office as soon as possible.
The SHSS Research Centre is seeking student volunteers to assist with oral history recording for the PNG Cultural Heritage Preservation Project in partnership with the National Museum. Field trips are planned to Central and Milne Bay Provinces in July and August 2026.
Interested students should submit a brief expression of interest (1 page) to the Research Centre by 25 June 2026.
