Graduate Employment

How UPNG supports students moving from study into work, and how employers reach UPNG graduates.

From Graduation to Employment

UPNG graduates go into the public service, private sector, NGOs and further study across Papua New Guinea and the region. Graduate employment support picks up where Career Services leaves off — matching final-year students and recent graduates with employers actively recruiting.

For Graduating Students and Employers

Employer Recruitment on Campus

Employers

Employers can present to final-year students, hold interviews on campus, and take part in career fairs.

Career Services

Alumni Network

Graduates

Graduates stay connected to the University and to each other through the UPNG Alumni network — a common source of referrals and mentoring for recent graduates.

UPNG Alumni

For Employers

Employers wanting to recruit UPNG graduates can:

  1. List a graduate vacancy

Send the role details to Career Services to have it shared with graduating students and recent alumni.

  2. Recruit on campus

Arrange a presentation, interview day or stand at a career fair through Career Services.

  3. Build an ongoing pipeline

Employers recruiting regularly from UPNG can discuss a standing arrangement with a School — see Industry Engagement.

See Industry Engagement for consultancy, research and training relationships alongside recruitment.

What to Expect

Graduate employment support connects students and employers — it does not place students in jobs directly, and vacancy listings are shared as employers submit them rather than guaranteed to be current at all times.

Graduate Employment Enquiries

Graduate employment support is coordinated by Career Services, working with the Schools and the Alumni network.
