Library Services
The University of Papua New Guinea Library system consists of the Michael Somare Library at Waigani campus and the Medical Library at Taurama campus. The Michael Somare Library houses resources for Natural and Physical Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, Business and Public Policy, and Law. The Medical Library serves the Medical School at full capacity.
Additional libraries include the Business and Public Policy Library at Waigani, with plans underway to establish a Law Library in the new Law School building. All catalogued resources are accessible through OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) across all library locations.
Digital resources supplement physical collections, including premium subscription-only content such as EBSCO, ProQuest, and PAMBU (Pacific Manuscripts Bureau – ANU), plus subsidised access to JSTOR, HINARI, AGORA, and Research4Life from international donor agencies.
