Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian Findlay has officially welcomed over 3,000 new students to the University of Papua New Guinea for the 2026 academic year during Orientation Week at the Waigani Campus.
In his address, Professor Findlay encouraged new students to embrace the academic culture of the university, engage with their lecturers, and take advantage of the wide range of support services available.
"You have been selected from thousands of applicants across Papua New Guinea. You are here because you have demonstrated academic merit and potential. Now it is up to you to make the most of this opportunity," he said.
