Clinical placement allocations for MBBS Year 3 and Year 4 students have been confirmed for Semester 2, 2026. Students are assigned to Port Moresby General Hospital, Lae Angau Memorial Hospital, and provincial health facilities.
Please collect your placement letters from the Clinical Education Office, SMHS Building Level 1, by 6 June 2026. Ensure your immunisation records are up to date prior to placement commencement.
The SMHS Research Committee is accepting nominations for the 2026 PNG Public Health Research Grant (K15,000). Priority areas include malaria control, maternal health, and non-communicable diseases in PNG communities.
Eligible applicants: academic staff and postgraduate students. Applications close 30 June 2026. Download the application form from the School Office.
All Year 1 MBBS and Nursing students are required to attend a mandatory First Aid and Basic Life Support refresher workshop before the end of Semester 1.
