Dean's Message
Dr. Lawrence Sause
Acting Executive Dean, School of Business and Public Policy
Dr. Sause welcomes visitors, students, and partners to the School of Business and Public Policy (SBPP). He describes it as "a progressive and leading School that combines the best of business and public policy in its curriculum and teaching."
The dean emphasizes the institution's commitment to fostering "an environment of self-discovery, continuous learning, and critical inquiry." He highlights that the school attracted over 19,000 undergraduate applicants in 2022, the highest enrollment across PNG universities.
Sause points to the school's modern facilities, including a newly completed world-class building and lecture theatres. He notes that recent submarine cable infrastructure connecting Papua New Guinea to Australia will enhance internet capabilities for improved teaching and learning.
The message describes significant international partnerships, particularly with Australian National University's Crawford School of Public Policy, whose staff are embedded in the school. Additional collaborations include partnerships with the University of Queensland, the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountants UK, and various government and private sector organizations.
Sause emphasizes the school's commitment to PNG's development through capacity building initiatives extending beyond the university into government and public service. He concludes by inviting prospective students and partners: "When you join the SBPP, you will be part of a vibrant team...constantly pushing the boundaries of learning."
