Business & Management Foundation Year
Entry Requirements
The Business & Management Foundation Year (BMFY) is a foundation year programme, not a certificate qualification: one year of preparatory study that is the prerequisite for streaming into second-year studies in the undergraduate programmes of the School of Business and Public Policy. Applicants must have successfully completed Grade 12 from a recognised institution and meet the following minimum requirements:
- A grade of C or better in Language & Literature or Applied English (one subject).
- An A in General Mathematics or a C in Advanced Mathematics (either satisfies the requirement).
- A grade of C or better in three (3) subjects chosen from Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or History.
Minimum GPA: 3.20, calculated across the subjects listed above (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0; subjects not taken are excluded from the calculation). Note that meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission — places are limited and competition is strong.
NOSS selection formula (2025): (COUNT_C[LL,AE]=1)&((COUNT_A[GM]=1)|(COUNT_C[AM]=1))&(COUNT_C[Ac,Ec,BS,Gr,Ph,Ch,Bi,Hi]=3)&(GPA[LL,AE,AM,GM,Ac,Ec,BS,Gr,Ph,Ch,Bi,Hi]>=3.2)
